The urgency of our desire to "win" in relationship to a project or achievement is sometimes driven by the need to prove to somebody else that we're capable, worthy, or reliable.
Yet often if we're pushing the river too fast the things we accomplish may not have the foundation that allows them to last. A more sustainable change might be created if we take the time to fully integrate and anchor our success.
Look at a goal, task, or pursuit that you've been pursuing at breakneck speed and slow down the process of shining and winning.
Are you speeding to impress or get the attention of someone?
Would you be willing to ease up a bit off the accelerator and win with depth, dignity, and elegance?
Give it some thought and see if there's a victory you can savor.
