Let Us Turn You Into an Engagement Expert
As a leader or person of influence in your organization you might have an interest in building your corporate culture. The truth is, it’s already building itself. Culture is not something that we can choose to have or not have. It already exists, though we can choose to direct it, rather than leaving it to chance.
The question is — “Is the culture you currently have the culture you want?”
In the absence of an intentional strategy, plan, and executive guidance every organization will develop its own culture — a random arising of attitudes, values, and expectations that are the sum of the default habits of its members. The opportunity for any leader who has a vision is to design and invite a distinct way of engaging for managers, employees, and customers that reinforces and upholds the core benefits of the company’s brand.
As Engagement Experts we’re in the business of habit engineering.
We can help you build a habit-bridge that will move your culture from its current state toward intentional patterns of engagement that will drive profit to your bottom line, and meaning, purpose, and fulfillment to the front lines of your company. We’ll show you how to engage your workforce in small, fun, gratifying day to day and moment to moment activities, that over time will make a huge difference in the organization you become. Best of all, we design these practices according to your needs after testing, observing, dialoguing, and visioning with you about the future you’re committed to reaching.
Training Director Skip Lackey – The Shocking Truth About Employee Engagement
Business, Corporations and Organizations are in the midst of a HUGE PROBLEM
A 2013 Gallup Poll on employee engagement shows…
If your business has more than 10 employees:
• 70% of them are “disengaged”. They are showing up and sleepwalking through their day. Doing barely their job… and nothing more. No value add.
• 20% are ACTIVELY disengaged – bringing unhappiness to work and infecting the engaged employees. Acting busy and not doing their job. They take sick days when they are not sick, add negativity and are possibly even stealing.
• …only 30% of your workforce is adding value to the bottom line. They show up and participate in productivity, innovation, leadership, accountability and more.
• This 30% is carrying workload for the other 70%!
More Startling Facts:
• Disengagement costs the US economy between 450 to 550 BILLION a year in lost productivity.
• 47% of Millennials (ages 18-35) are planning on quitting their job within the next year to start their own business, because they want to be engaged and make a difference in the world.
• Some of the “disengaged” are on the Executive Team
And if your business has UNDER 10 employee’s … statistically, only 47% are disengaged. How lucky are you?!
Employee engagement is a major issue. And it’s not going away. Elsewhere around the world… it’s even worse.
Training Director Skip Lackey Describes the Break a Rule Process
Break a Rule Employee and Customer Engagement Training
Steps to Success – How We Can Help
1.) The Executive Discovery Process
We begin with an in-depth conversation to fully understand the scope of the issues that are causing pain to your organization and what has been done (if anything) to curb the problem in the past. We will look at your current engagement strategies, note the current wins, strengths, opportunities and weaknesses in relationship to overall engagement.
2.) The Design Phase
Here we begin creating a plan to capitalize on what you are already doing right to get your team even more fully engaged. A strategy to increase employee engagement will be scoped out and we’ll map the process of how this will lead to customer engagement. The proposal will then be presented by Break a Rule to the executive leadership team. It will offer alternative forms of deployment that can be implemented over different time frames for maximum results. Together Break a Rule and the executive team will agree on the timeframes and frequency of training best suited to the organization.
3.) The Launch Event
The purpose of this live gathering of your employees is to jumpstart the training initiative for as many of the team members as possible. Founder Rick Lewis performs his famous surprise waiter routine, leading into an interactive comedy show, and capped off with his introductory keynote providing an inspiring overview of the potential in Breaking Rules and taking actions of Intelligent Misbehavior at work. This is a fun, exciting, team-building initiative to launch into the engagement experience. At its conclusion a senior team leader with your company will be given the opportunity to empower the usefulness of the model, reinforce the importance it will have in future growth of the organization, and declare the executive team’s intention to serve both employees and the mission and vision of the organization through the committed use of the Break a Rule program.
4.) The Executive Management Experience
Prior to rolling out the training program to the rest of the workforce we bring executives, managers, influencers, and department heads into a deeper understanding and relationship to the Break a Rule model so that complete “buy-in” can be achieved at all levels of your organization. We do this through a dedicated training session for leadership.
5.) Employee Onsite Training
The live workshop delivery will be with Skip Lackey, the Break a Rule Director of Training. The workshops will introduce and then cover in-depth how each form of rule breaking can be practically embraced and integrated into daily work life.
The breaking of each of the 7 Rules corresponds to a distinct organizational benefit. Employees will learn and understand how the new skills they will acquire in the practice of Intelligent Misbehavior can be translated into organizational strengths.
Being Normal – The practice of Authentic Expression leads to Communication
Avoiding Mistakes – The practice of Trying New Things leads to Innovation
Being Independent – The practice of Asking for Help leads to the possibility of Teamwork.

Being Popular – The practice of Honoring a Vision leads to the possibility of organizational Integrity.
The workshops are highly experiential; create an enormous degree of trust, goodwill and understanding between employees, all while having fun. There will be follow up, targets, goals and simple practices offered between training initiatives that will keep the engagement factor high from one live training to the next.
